Grammar and Conversazione

LEVEL 1
Level 1 is designed for students who need basic Italian grammar. The course focuses on Italian phonetic (starting with the alphabet and syllables), common phrases, verb conjugations (present regular and irregular), and grammar (articles, prepositions, adjectives and pronouns). The course gives students a foundation of basic tools to interact effectively in everyday Italian, engaging students in simple talk and composition of simple sentences.

LEVEL 2
Level 2 Engaging students in a more evolved conversation and writing of short passages, this level is designed for those who have a basic knowledge and understanding of Italian grammar. Students learn past tense and grammar. Class exercises, oral and written and listening of dialogues will help the students to focus on everyday Italian.

LEVEL 3
Level 3 Focusing on future tenses and adverbs, students will engage in a more extended conversation and be able to write descriptions and letter as well as talking about themselves and others. This level reinforces the basic rules of grammar and introduces new tenses and how to use them. Vocabulary plays an important factor in this class and students will watch videos and listen to songs to learn a more modern Italian and be able to speak it.

LEVEL 4
Level 4 Students master the past tenses as well as the direct/indirect speech that enable them to talk in a regular conversation with Italians. The comparative and superlative, the idiomatic forms used in Italian language and a more advanced vocabulary will trigger the students to create and express their own thoughts and ideas in Italian and speed up the comprehension of the language. By the end of the course students have a complete introduction to the breadth and depth of Italian grammar and be able to apply it.

LEVEL 5
Level 5 This course engages the students to be able to converse with Italian native speakers, to tell stories, narrate a movie and article. Students study advanced grammar, like some conditional tense, idiomatic structures, correct pronunciation and composition. More time is dedicated to listening and speaking with a focus on fluidity of conversation.

LEVEL 6
Level 6 Students will learn other conditional tense and handle a more complex conversation as well as writing; there will be oral and written class assignments. They will be able to express ideas, read complex texts and interact with fluidity with their classmates and the professor. There will be screenings of films and videos, discussion and written exercises. Students will be a high school level.

LEVEL 7
Level 7 Students are introduced to the subjunctive mode, that’s deeply used in Italian language orally and written. They will learn complex idiomatic sentences and combined the conditional tenses with the subjunctives in order to be able to express themselves entirely. A lot of time is dedicated to comprehension and speed listening as well as improving the vocabulary. Reading of newspapers and writing assignments with oral presentation will give students the tools to communicate in every situation.

LEVEL 8
Level 8 You made it! With this class you can call yourself “a true Italian” nothing will scare you anymore; you can just prepare your suitcase and move to Italy. This class will face all the hypothetical constructions, combining gerunds, conditional and subjunctive tenses with pronouns and direct/indirect objects. Students will master and Absolute knowledge of the language and write professional letters as well as public speech without any doubt and fear. A strong part of the class is dedicated to expand vocabulary and pronunciation.
